My wife and I
live in a remote forested area in Southern Oregon and
our nearest neighbor is over a mile away. About a year ago our
home
was broken into, which made me wary about my wife walking alone in
the
woods, and her being at home alone when I am away on business
trips.
So, we decided to look into getting a protection dog.
We spent about a month calling and researching several protection
dog
trainers and breeders around the U.S. We quickly became
discouraged
because it seemed that most everyone we came across was asking
over
$35,000 for a seriously trained dog, and we got the feeling that
the
trainers and breeders we spoke to had a "hard edge" in the way the
dogs (and customers) were treated.
Luckily, we stumbled upon Ot Vitosha Malinois, and after one
conversation with Ivan and Carrie, we knew that they were
different.
We learned that Ivan is a world champion Schutzhund competitor, and
is
known for his gentle, almost human-like communication with the
dogs he
trains. After seeing the Malinois dogs he breeds, we were also
very
happy to discover that they are sleeker and more beautiful than
any
other lines of Malinois we have seen (directly from Europe or
otherwise).
We purchased a powerful, handsome dog from Ivan and Carrie (his
name
is "Vidin"), and have had a wonderful experience. Vidin is a happy
and
loving dog that behaves beautifully everywhere -- in town, in the
woods, and inside the house. However, we also know that if the
situation were ever to arise where my wife or I were threatened by
someone, Vidin would bravely and competently be able to protect
us.
My wife and I can't say enough about Ivan, Carrie, and everyone at
Ot
Vitosha Malinois. We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone
looking
for world-class protection dogs.

Just wanted to let you know that Asher did what he was trained to
do!
Karen and I were in northern Virginia two weeks ago.
We stopped at a mall and left Asher in the car. When Karen returned
to the car, and as she got into the car, a man with a gun tried to
carjack our vehicle. Asher went through the window and attacked
the carjacker. Just as I arrived, the carjacker tried to shoot Asher.
At that time, I terminated the subject. Asher was not hurt; he did a super job.
The shooting was ruled JUSTIFIED. I found out that this person
was out on parole. He had been convicted of this same crime many times before.
THANK GOD we were not hurt.
Thanks again Ivan; keep up the good work.
